Make A Difference Day

November 1, 2008 Roseburg Library 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Storytelling, crafts, a free book for each child and other fun activities.
 
  • BOOK BOX....Roseburg Valley Mall: Our year around project is the collection of children's and adult books. A book box is located at the Roseburg Valley Mall beside Norton Books. Over 7,900 books were put into the community last year.
  • FISH Food Pantry: Books are given each month for the clients to take home along with the food items. Approximately 6,000 book will be given out this year.
  • Iditraread: March 2008 at the three schools. This is a reading program that coincides with the Iditarod. Over 520 books, ice cream and cookies are given to students for their reading.
  • Books for newborns: Will be given to Mercy Birthplace to be given to parents along with information on the importance of reading at an early age.
  • Celebration of Literacy: Over 5,500 books were placed in all county food pantries during Celebration of Literacy held in February 2008.
