Kathy Dietrich becomes a LEED Certified Architect
LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system. Green buildings are built on sustainable sites, employ water efficiency, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, reduce waste, use sustainable materials and use new and innovative technologies.

To become a LEED Certified architect, Kathy had to have worked on a LEED project and passed an exam. The credential means that she shows professional excellence and strong knowledge of LEED requirements.

Member Rita  Deitrich and her husband Bill are standing in front of their 1929 Model A truck. Bill got the truck in pieces about 20 years ago and put it together and redid all the upholstery, wood and painted it. It is completely restored.

This year the 5th graders at Hockinson Intermediate School are gathering information to create a book about the early days of their community. They interviewed Bill for over an hour and took pictures of the truck. Tita gave them some pictures of their property from the 1920's. With the help of their parents, the students will publish their book in the spring of 2009.

The Dietrichs won the first place trophy
in the local Hockinson parade with the
truck 3 years ago.
